Step into Work

The Step into Work Programme is a joint Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board and Social Care Project which addresses the need for a sustainable, well qualified and professional staff in the Care Sector.

Participants are identified who are interested and passionate about starting their career in the Health and Social Care Sector.  They are provided with information about career opportunities, details of the mandatory training and what is expected of them when entering the workplace.

Once the mandatory programme has been completed and the participants are “job ready”, unpaid work placements are found for a minimum of 16 hours per week, for 6 weeks, to provide practical and hands-on experience.   This experience can be in Health or Social Care.

Support  is available to deal with any issues or problems which may arise and contact  will be maintained throughout the placement, by the Step into Work Employment Mentor.

Participants will be able to use their skills, knowledge and qualifications to apply for a number of different jobs in the health and social care sector, or  join the NHS bank recruitment (on successful completing of their work placement).
