The RPB Children’s Sub-Group have written a strategy in response to the No Wrong Door report written by the Children’s Commissioner for Wales.
We worked with children and young people to select a name for our approach, which is The Right Door.
Sometimes finding help is confusing or overwhelming. We want it to be as simple as possible.
The Right Door means that wherever you go to find support — at school, a community service, social services, or health service, you’ll get help.
They will work together to connect you to the right services and get you the support you need.

Hope Productions bring Welsh Government Strategy to life
Students at Ysgol Y Gogarth in Llandudno have created an animated webseries to support Young People with their mental health. Pupils teamed up with TAPE Community Music and Film to create Hope Productions. Over 10 months hard work, the group of students with Additional Learning Needs worked together on a Project from Welsh Government. The project aim was to raise awareness of the ‘No Wrong Door Strategy’. They focused on common issues which include: healthy eating, substance misuse and planning for life after school. The pupils chose to create their webseries using their own name – ‘The Right Door’, which explores the topics of mental health and wellbeing for children and young people.
Working alongside the film and music advocacy TAPE, pupils learned new skills from filming, script writing, character design, editing and voiceover work. The Children’s commissioner for Wales attended the premiere and spoke with young people and parents about the challenges there can be for life after school transitions. Students found the experience motivating for discussions around life after school, and planning their futures. The group enjoyed working together with other pupils, bringing their ideas to the table, helping to reduce stigma, and to highlight where to get help for anyone struggling.
