Commissioning

North Wales Commissioning Board

This integrated board reports to the North Wales Regional Partnership Board, meets every two months and has responsibility for strategic commissioning issues that require a regional approach. The board has several working groups and commissions task and finish groups as required.

Its broad aim is to add value to local commissioning arrangements that seek to ensure that care and support provision in North Wales is sustainable, delivers ‘what matters’ to individuals with good standards of quality and safety.

The board’s priorities

The board’s main projects underway across North Wales:

  1. Ensuring sustainable care markets
  2. Supporting local developments in outcome based commissioning
  3. Supporting commissioning arrangements that promote improvements in social value
  4. Supporting the ‘Healthier Wales’ transformation programmes across North Wales with joint / integrated commissioning and contracting:
  • Seamless services for people with learning disabilities
  • Together for mental health
  • Community services / closer to home
  • Children and young people
