Lead Organisation: Regional Partnership Board
Challenge
There is a lack of online multi-agency safety resources for young people, their families and their teachers available both in the Welsh language and matched to the Welsh School Curriculum.
Intervention
StayWise Cymru aims to provide safety resources, activity packs and lesson plans in the medium of Welsh and English from a diverse range of services for both primary and secondary school age children. There is also a section for parents and a section for teachers with lessons plans which provides you with a range of resources which can be selected based on the age range/ year group you are teaching and the specific area of the curriculum which this topic relates to/ covers.
Thus far StayWise Cymru have received resources from the Welsh Ambulance Service, the North Wales Fire Service, and the RNLI. They have also been in talks with transport for Wales, the coastguard, the police service and FABI about the use of their resources. Resources received so far have been translated in to Welsh.
Outcomes
In terms of how the project has been measured or will be measured. One way to measure its effectiveness will be the buy in from other partner agencies such as the Police and the Coastguard. Developing a multi-agency partnership to roll out StayWise Cymru would be a success. We could also look at the number of resources received and translated as a measure. Also with the use of the website there is a way to measure use of the website, how many views the website has had as well as who is getting the most use from the site because each user must create a login specifying whether they are a teacher, a pupil or a parent.
