Step into Work

30/11/2022

If you have not heard about this programme, it is an exciting collaboration between Health and Social Care where people who are interested in pursuing a career in Care undertake a comprehensive induction provided by the NHS to include mandatory e-learning modules, manual handling passports and core skills.   Checks are made on their right to work, DBS, Covid Risk Assessments and Occupational Health assessments, making sure that the participants are “work ready”.

A work placement is sought at the end of the programme so that participants are able to obtain hands on experience. These work placements are either in health or social care depending on the preference of the individual.  They are for 6 weeks with a minimum of 16 hours per week.

After participants have successfully finished their placement, they may have the opportunity to secure employment at their placement (if there are vacancies), use their skills/qualifications to apply for employment or alternatively they could be eligible to join the NHS Bank Recruitment.

Rebecca  has joined the team, as the Step into Work Employment Mentor.  Her role involves supporting people to complete the Step into Work Programme in partnership with the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.

If this programme is of interest you, or you have any queries or questions then please contact Rebecca on 01824 712 437 or email her on Szekely.rebecca@denbighshire.gov.uk
