North Wales Population Needs Assessment

The North Wales population needs assessment provides information about the care and support needs of people in North Wales and the support needs of carers. We use it to help plan our services and set priorities for the region.

We publish an assessment every five years, and the version that was produced in April 2022 can be downloaded from this page. The downloads include accessible versions, appendices and supporting documents.

Corrections and revisions

April 2023 – correction made to North Wales total in full report table 57 (pasting error).

The next assessment is due to be published in April 2027. However we are always reviewing and updating our information and knowledge to make sure we continue to improve health and social care services in North Wales.

Our statistics and research pages provide updates to some of the data and other information used in the 2022 assessment.

There’s more information about the engagement activities we used to inform the assessment in our directory of engagements. This directory will be kept up to date to help us coordinate engagement activities and keep learning from people’s experiences.

You can see a list of the the organisations who produced the North Wales population assessment on our ‘who provides care and support’ page.
