Statistics about the key indicators of mental health in children and young people in North Wales PDF

There are some social, economic and environmental factors which are considered key influences – or determinants – of mental health. Looking at data about some of these factors can give us a better understanding of what may impact on young people’s mental health in North Wales, how we may need to plan our support services, and what we may need to address in the wider environment to help with these issues. Updated April 2025.

Demand for care home places in North Wales PDF

There is no simple relationship between growth in the population of people aged 65 and over and the number of older residents who live in communal establishments. There are many elements that will affect future demand that we cannot model. The longer term policy trends towards providing more at home-care and general improvements in population health mean demand for care home spaces has not necessarily kept pace with population growth. Published July 2024.

Key drivers of demand for Childrens Service’s PDF

The overall decrease in the number of children in the population does not mean that the requirement for support for children and families from social care providers will also decrease. Some of the fields in which we provide support have seen increases in the number of children dealing with specific issues or conditions in recent years or have seen numbers remaining static. Published August 2024.

Statistics about housing and homelessness in North Wales PDF

Housing is identified in the North Wales Population Needs Assessment and across the region’s Public Service Board needs assessments as being key to mental, physical, and emotional well-being. This bulletin pulls together information about housing demand, supply, cost, and quality to help us understand some of the key issues facing our residents, our workforce and our priority population groups. Published September 2024.
